CAPE TO CAIRO POLICIES

CRAFTED. DELICIOUS. CLEAN SNACKING

Shipping & Delivery

Shipping & Delivery

Cape to Cairo ships online orders within Australia only.
We do not currently ship outside Australia.
Cape to Cairo sells a wide range of products, including biltong, droëwors, jerky, groceries, pantry items, spices, sauces, sweets, snacks, household products, BBQ and braai essentials, biltong-making accessories, gifts, potjies, personal care items and other general merchandise.
Different products may require different shipping methods, packaging or handling. We will pack and send your order using the delivery method we consider suitable for the products ordered, the delivery address, parcel size, parcel weight and available shipping options at checkout.
Biltong, droëwors and jerky are sent by Australia Post Express Post because they are food products and we want them to move through the delivery network as quickly as reasonably possible.
Other grocery, pantry, household, BBQ, braai, gift, accessory and general merchandise items may be sent by Australia Post Parcel Post, Express Post or another suitable delivery method, depending on the order and the shipping option available at checkout.
Where a customer lives near our Osborne Park store, local delivery may be available by Uber courier, provided the customer is willing to pay the applicable delivery fee.
If you have any questions about shipping before placing your order, please contact us.

Australia-Only Delivery

Cape to Cairo only accepts online orders for delivery within Australia.
We do not offer international shipping, and we do not ship any products outside Australia.
If an order is placed with an overseas delivery address, we may cancel and refund the order.

How We Send Different Products

Cape to Cairo stocks different types of products, and not every product is sent the same way.
As a general guide:
Biltong, droëwors and jerky are sent by Australia Post Express Post.
Shelf-stable groceries, pantry items, sweets, snacks, spices, sauces, household items, personal care items, gifts, BBQ and braai essentials, biltong-making accessories, potjies and other general merchandise may be sent by Australia Post Parcel Post, Express Post or another suitable delivery method.
Bulky, heavy, fragile or unusually shaped items may require additional packaging, separate parcel handling, adjusted shipping charges or a different delivery arrangement.
Some orders may be split into more than one parcel.
We will use reasonable care when packing your order, but shipping method, packaging and parcel separation will depend on the products ordered, Australia Post requirements, parcel size, parcel weight, destination and the available shipping options.

Biltong, Droëwors and Jerky

All biltong, droëwors and jerky orders are sent by Australia Post Express Post.
We use Express Post because biltong, droëwors and jerky are food products, and we want them to move through the delivery network as quickly as reasonably possible.
Australia Post states that Express Post is its fastest parcel delivery option and generally takes 1–3 business days, depending on the lodgement point, destination and delivery network conditions.
However, Express Post does not always mean next business day delivery.
Australia Post’s next business day delivery guarantee only applies where an item is posted within the Express Post next business day delivery network, on a business day from Monday to Friday, and where all Australia Post Express Post service conditions are met.
Those service conditions include matters such as correct addressing, meeting applicable weight or service restrictions, completing any required declarations, and lodging the item by the required time at an eligible lodgement point.
Australia Post also states that Express Post next business day delivery is only available within the Express Post next business day delivery network. The national next business day delivery network operates between capital cities, excluding Darwin, and some major centres. For Perth, next business day delivery is limited to the Perth CBD only.
For addresses outside the next business day network, Australia Post advises that Express Post items are delivered as fast as possible using existing transport links.
For this reason, Cape to Cairo cannot guarantee next business day delivery, even where Express Post is used. Delivery times depend on the Australia Post network, the origin and destination postcodes, lodgement time, public holidays, weekends, seasonal demand, weather events, transport disruptions and other conditions outside our control.
Cape to Cairo uses Express Post for biltong, droëwors and jerky as a quality and transit-time precaution, not as a promise that every order will arrive the next day.

Mixed Orders and Separate Parcels

If your order includes both:
biltong, droëwors or jerky; and
other products, including groceries, pantry items, household items, BBQ or braai products, gifts, accessories, potjies or other general merchandise,
your order will be packed and sent in separate parcels.
Biltong, droëwors and jerky will be sent by Australia Post Express Post.
Other items will be sent separately by Australia Post Parcel Post, Express Post or another suitable delivery method, depending on the product, parcel size, parcel weight, packaging requirements and checkout shipping options.
This helps us protect the quality of our air-dried meat products while still allowing you to order across the wider Cape to Cairo range.
Depending on our Shopify checkout, shipping profile and fulfilment settings, shipping charges may appear as one combined shipping charge or as separate shipping options for different parts of the order.
Where an order is split into separate parcels, you will receive separate tracking details and the parcels may arrive on different days.
If the Shopify checkout does not calculate a suitable shipping method or rate for a mixed order, Cape to Cairo will contact you to confirm shipping arrangements, additional delivery costs or an alternative fulfilment option before dispatch.

Bulky, Heavy or Fragile Items

Some Cape to Cairo products may be bulky, heavy, fragile or unusually shaped.
This may include items such as potjies, BBQ and braai accessories, glass jars, bottles, sauces, gift packs, biltong-making accessories, household items or other general merchandise.
These products may require:
additional packaging;
separate parcels;
manual shipping review;
additional shipping charges;
alternative delivery arrangements; or
collection from store where delivery is not practical.
If an item cannot be safely, practically or economically shipped through the standard checkout options, Cape to Cairo will contact you before dispatch to discuss available options.

Standard Delivery for Non-Biltong Products

Products that are not biltong, droëwors or jerky will be sent by Australia Post Parcel Post, Express Post or another suitable delivery method.
Australia Post Parcel Post delivery times are estimates only and depend on destination, lodgement point, parcel size, parcel weight, Australia Post network conditions and peak delivery periods.

Parcel Weight And Dimensions

Cape to Cairo applies a maximum parcel weight limit of 20 kg per parcel for online orders.
This is our internal shipping limit, set to keep parcels within a practical handling weight and safely below Australia Post’s domestic parcel maximum.
Australia Post’s domestic parcel limits apply to all parcels we send. As a general guide, Australia Post allows domestic parcels up to 22 kg physical weight, up to 105 cm in maximum length, and up to 0.25 cubic metres in cubic volume. Some services, packaging types or lodgement points may have additional requirements or restrictions.
For parcels over 5 kg, Australia Post may calculate postage based on the greater of the parcel’s actual weight or cubic weight, together with the delivery destination. This means a large but lightweight parcel may be charged according to its cubic weight rather than its physical weight.
Cape to Cairo’s online shipping rates are calculated at checkout using the Australia Post shipping calculation available through our website. Rates may be based on factors such as:
parcel weight;
parcel dimensions;
destination postcode;
shipping method;
product type;
packaging requirements; and
whether the order needs to be split into more than one parcel.
If an order exceeds Cape to Cairo’s 20 kg parcel limit or cannot be packed safely or practically as a single parcel, we will split the order into multiple parcels, contact you about additional shipping costs, or ask you to place separate orders.

Local Delivery by Uber Courier

Customers near our Osborne Park store may be able to arrange local delivery by Uber courier, where available.
Uber local delivery is a paid service unless Cape to Cairo expressly states otherwise. The customer is responsible for paying the applicable Uber delivery fee.
Local Uber delivery is subject to Uber availability, driver availability, service area, product suitability, store operating hours and the order being ready for collection.
Cape to Cairo does not independently guarantee that an address is within Uber’s delivery area. Delivery availability, distance, timing and fee are determined by Uber or the relevant Uber service at the time the delivery is requested or quoted.
Uber delivery fees may vary depending on estimated distance, estimated time, traffic, wait times, delivery availability, demand and any applicable Uber or service fees.
Orders sent by Uber courier must be suitable for local courier delivery and will be securely packed, sealed and ready for collection.
If Uber local delivery is unavailable, unsuitable or not accepted by the customer, we will offer Australia Post delivery instead.

Local Delivery Area

Uber courier delivery may be available for customers near our Osborne Park store.
As a practical guide, Cape to Cairo may consider Uber local delivery requests within approximately 20 km of our Osborne Park store. However, the final delivery availability, delivery distance and delivery fee are determined by Uber or the relevant Uber service at the time the delivery is requested or quoted.
Being within approximately 20 km of the store does not automatically guarantee Uber delivery.

Local Delivery at Checkout

Where available, Uber local delivery may be offered as a checkout option.
If Uber local delivery appears at checkout, the customer may select that option and pay the applicable delivery fee shown.
If Uber local delivery does not appear at checkout, or if the delivery cannot be completed through the checkout process, customers may contact Cape to Cairo to ask whether local courier delivery can be manually arranged.

Dispatch Days

Cape to Cairo dispatches Australia Post orders on working business days only.
All orders requiring Australia Post dispatch that are placed on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday or public holiday will be held until the next available working business day.
This means:
orders placed on Friday will be dispatched on Monday;
orders placed on Saturday or Sunday will be dispatched on Monday;
orders placed on a public holiday will be dispatched on the next working business day; and
 if Monday is a public holiday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday orders will be dispatched on Tuesday or the next working business day.
We hold these orders to help avoid food products sitting unnecessarily within the postal network over weekends or public holidays.
Australia Post states that no local mail or parcel deliveries take place on national, state, regional or local public holidays, including Express Post items.
Local Uber courier delivery may still be available on a Friday, weekend or public holiday where Cape to Cairo is open, the order is ready, Uber is available and the customer agrees to pay the applicable Uber delivery fee.

Order Cut-Off Times

Orders are packed and dispatched as promptly as possible during business hours.
Dispatch is subject to:
order volume;
stock availability;
payment confirmation;
correct delivery details;
store operating hours;
Australia Post lodgement times; and
public holiday or peak-period delays.
An order confirmation email means we have received your order. It does not mean the order has already been dispatched.
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive tracking details where available.

Delivery Timeframes

Delivery times are estimates only.
Australia Post delivery times are calculated in business days and may vary depending on where the parcel is sent from, where it is being delivered, local delivery conditions and Australia Post network conditions.
As a general guide:
Express Post usually takes 1–3 business days within Australia.
Parcel Post usually takes 2–6 business days within Australia.
Regional, rural and remote destinations may take longer.
Delivery times are counted from the day after dispatch, not from the time your order is placed.

High-Volume Shipping Periods

During high-volume shipping periods, delivery will take longer than usual.
This includes major retail events and seasonal periods such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas, Easter, public holiday periods and other peak delivery windows.
During these periods, Australia Post and courier networks process significantly higher parcel volumes. This will affect delivery timeframes, tracking updates, parcel scanning, depot processing, interstate movement and final delivery speed.
Cape to Cairo will pack and dispatch orders as promptly as reasonably possible, but we cannot guarantee delivery by a specific date once an order has been handed to Australia Post or another delivery provider.
If you are ordering for a specific occasion, gift, event, holiday, road trip, braai, Christmas delivery or festive table, please place your order well in advance and allow sufficient time for both dispatch and delivery.
For food products, including biltong, droëwors, jerky, groceries, pantry items, sweets, snacks, sauces and other edible goods, we strongly recommend ordering early rather than relying on last-minute delivery during peak shipping periods.

Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout.
Postage costs are based on the Australia Post shipping calculation available through our website, including factors such as:
parcel weight;
parcel dimensions;
destination;
shipping method;
product type;
packaging requirements; and
whether the order is split into separate parcels.
If your order includes products requiring different shipping methods or separate parcels, shipping may be calculated separately or adjusted according to the available Shopify and Australia Post shipping settings.

Tracking

Where tracking is available, tracking details will be sent after dispatch.
Once a parcel has been lodged with Australia Post, delivery progress is managed by Australia Post.
Customers can use the tracking information provided to monitor their delivery.

Delivery Addresses

Please check your delivery address carefully before submitting your order.
Cape to Cairo is not responsible for delays, failed deliveries or lost parcels caused by incorrect, incomplete or unsafe delivery details provided by the customer.
If you notice an error in your delivery address, contact us as soon as possible at info@capetocairo.com.au or on 08 9204 5666.
We will do our best to assist, but we cannot guarantee changes once an order has been packed, dispatched or handed to a delivery provider.

Delivery delays can occur.
If your parcel is delayed after dispatch, please first check the tracking details provided.
If the tracking information has not updated for an unusual period, contact us and we will assist where we reasonably can.

If the matter is urgent, you can also call us on 08 9204 5666.

Product Care After Delivery

Food products, including biltong, droëwors, jerky, groceries, pantry items, sweets, snacks, sauces and other edible goods, should be brought inside as soon as possible after delivery.
Please do not leave food products outside, in direct sunlight, in a hot car, near pets, near pests or in wet conditions.
Cape to Cairo is not responsible for product deterioration caused by a parcel being left outside, exposed to heat, moisture, pests or other unsuitable conditions after delivery.
Customers should always follow the storage instructions on the product packaging.

Returns, Refunds and Order Issues

Returns, Refunds and Order Issues

We want every Cape to Cairo order to arrive in good condition and ready to enjoy.
Cape to Cairo takes product quality, food safety and customer care seriously.
If something about your order is missing, damaged, incorrect or not up to the standard you reasonably expect from us, please contact us first, and within 48 hours of delivery, so we can review the matter and try to resolve it directly with you.
We stand behind our products and will always do our best to investigate genuine concerns fairly and promptly. In most cases, we can only properly assess an issue if we receive your order number, photos, batch or best-before information where available, and a clear explanation of what has occurred.
You can contact us at info@capetocairo.com.au or on 08 9204 5666.
Because Cape to Cairo sells food products and other goods, returns and exchanges may be limited for food safety, hygiene, quality and resale reasons. We cannot always accept a product back once it has left our control, especially where it has been opened, used, handled, stored incorrectly, damaged, exposed to heat, moisture, pests or contamination risk, or is no longer suitable for resale.
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or your right to contact a relevant authority where appropriate.

When To Contact Us

Please contact us promptly if:
your order is missing an item;
you received the wrong item;
your parcel arrived damaged;
a product appears damaged, unsafe or faulty;
the product quality is not up to the standard you reasonably expected;
your order has been delayed beyond a reasonable timeframe; or
there is another issue with your order.
You can contact us by email at info@capetocairo.com.au or by phone on 08 9204 5666.
Please do not consume or use a product if you are concerned it may be unsafe, damaged or unsuitable.

What We May Offer

Depending on the issue, the product, the evidence provided and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, we may offer one or more of the following:
a replacement product;
a refund;
a store credit;
a partial refund;
redelivery of a missing item;
or another suitable remedy.
Where a product has a major problem under Australian Consumer Law, you may be entitled to choose a refund or replacement. Where the issue is minor, we may be entitled to provide a suitable remedy within a reasonable time.

Proof Of Issue

To help us assess your request, please provide:
your order number;
your full name;
your contact details;
a clear description of the issue;
photos of the product;
photos of the packaging;
photos of the shipping label where relevant;
batch, best-before, use-by or date information if visible; and
any other information that may help us understand what happened.
Please send this information to info@capetocairo.com.au.
Please keep the product and packaging until we have reviewed the matter.
For damaged items, please take photos before disposing of any product or packaging.

Timeframe For Reporting Order Issues

Please contact us as soon as possible after receiving your order.
For food products, we ask that you notify us within 48 hours of delivery where reasonably possible.
This helps us assess the product, packaging, delivery condition and batch information while the issue is still current.
For non-food products, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible after you notice the issue.
If you contact us outside these timeframes, we will still review the matter where appropriate, but we may be limited in what we can verify or offer.
To report an issue, please email info@capetocairo.com.au or call 08 9204 5666.

Missing Items

If an item is missing from your order, please first check whether your order has been split into separate parcels.
Orders containing biltong, droëwors or jerky and other products may be sent separately.
Biltong, droëwors and jerky are sent by Australia Post Express Post. Other items may be sent separately by Australia Post Parcel Post, Express Post or another suitable delivery method.
You may receive separate tracking details for each parcel.
If you still believe an item is missing, please contact us with your order number at info@capetocairo.com.au or call 08 9204 5666, and we will review the order.

Damaged Items

If your parcel or product arrives damaged, please contact us promptly.
A damaged product may not meet the consumer guarantee of acceptable quality, depending on the nature and extent of the damage.
Please send photos of:
the outside of the parcel;
the product inside the parcel;
the damaged item;
the shipping label; and
any packaging damage.
Please email this information to info@capetocairo.com.au and include your order number.
If you need assistance, you can also call us on 08 9204 5666.
We will assess the issue and determine the appropriate remedy.

Incorrect Items

If you receive the wrong item, please contact us with your order number and a photo of the item received.
Please email info@capetocairo.com.au or call 08 9204 5666.
If the error is ours, we will review the issue and arrange a suitable remedy, which may include replacement, refund, store credit or another appropriate solution.

Product Quality Concerns

Food products may naturally vary in appearance, texture, shape, size, flavour intensity and other characteristics.
Biltong is a natural air-dried product, and texture may vary between batches. Natural variation in colour, size, shape, fat level, dryness and texture does not necessarily mean the product is faulty.
However, if the product quality is not up to the standard you reasonably expect from Cape to Cairo, or you believe a product may be unsafe, damaged, spoiled or faulty, please contact us promptly and do not consume the product.
Please email info@capetocairo.com.au with your order number, photos of the product and packaging, and any batch, best-before, use-by or date information visible on the packet.
If the matter is urgent, you can also call us on 08 9204 5666.
We will assess the issue based on the information provided, product condition, batch details, packaging, storage and delivery circumstances.

Product Condition, Storage and Delayed Concerns

Please contact us promptly if you have any concern about the quality, safety or condition of a product.
Because Cape to Cairo sells food products and other goods, we may be limited in what we can verify where a concern is raised some time after delivery. Once an order has been delivered, the product is outside Cape to Cairo’s control and may be affected by storage, handling, use or environmental conditions.
For food products, this includes exposure to heat, moisture, direct sunlight, damaged packaging, pests, pantry conditions, failure to follow storage instructions, or other food products stored nearby.
For non-food products, this may include misuse, mishandling, accidental damage, unsuitable storage, failure to follow instructions, fair wear and tear, or alteration after delivery.
Food products must be stored in accordance with the instructions on the packaging. Products should be kept sealed until opened, stored in a cool, dry place unless the label says otherwise, and protected from heat, moisture and contamination risk.
We will always review genuine product concerns carefully. However, Cape to Cairo may refuse a refund, replacement, credit or other remedy where, after assessment, the product is not faulty, does not fail to meet a consumer guarantee, or the issue appears to have arisen after delivery because of storage, handling, use, heat exposure, moisture exposure, damaged packaging, pests, failure to follow instructions, delay in reporting the concern, or other conditions outside Cape to Cairo’s control.
If you are concerned a product may be unsafe, please do not consume or use it. Contact us promptly at info@capetocairo.com.au or on 08 9204 5666 with your order number, photos of the product and packaging, batch or date information where visible, and details of how and where the product has been stored or used.
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Best-Before and Use-By Dates

Some food products are marked with a best-before date. Other products may be marked with a use-by date.
These terms do not mean the same thing.
A best-before date relates mainly to food quality. Food with a best-before date may still be suitable to eat after that date if it has been stored correctly and is not damaged, deteriorated or perished.
A use-by date relates to food safety. Food marked with a use-by date should not be eaten or sold after that date.
Cape to Cairo will not knowingly sell food after its use-by date.
Where a product has a best-before date, Cape to Cairo may sell the product after that date only where it is lawful to do so and we are satisfied that the product remains fit for human consumption and is not damaged, deteriorated or perished.
Customers should always read the product label and follow the storage instructions on the packaging.

Change Of Mind Returns

Because Cape to Cairo sells food products and other goods, we do not usually accept returns, refunds or exchanges for change of mind.
Where we agree, at our discretion, to consider a change-of-mind return, the product must:
be returned within 30 days of purchase;
be accompanied by valid proof of purchase;
be unused, unopened and undamaged;
be in its original packaging;
be in a condition suitable for resale;
if marked with a use-by date, not be expired or within 5 days of its use-by date; and
if marked with a best-before date, not be damaged, deteriorated or perished and not be so close to, or past, its best-before date that we consider it unsuitable for resale.
For food safety, hygiene and quality reasons, we cannot accept change-of-mind returns for products that have been opened, partly consumed, used, damaged, stored incorrectly, exposed to heat, moisture, pests or contamination risk, or otherwise handled outside Cape to Cairo’s control.
Cape to Cairo may refuse a change-of-mind return where the product does not meet these conditions.
Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Change Of Mind Examples

We do not usually accept returns, refunds or exchanges where:
you ordered the wrong product;
you selected the wrong flavour, size, colour, style or quantity;
you changed your mind after ordering;
you no longer want the item;
you found the item cheaper elsewhere;
you do not like the taste, flavour, texture, fat level, dryness, appearance or other personal preference of the product; or
the product was delivered correctly but not collected, opened, used or stored in time.
Biltong is personal. Texture, dryness, fat level and flavour preference can vary from customer to customer. A personal preference does not necessarily mean the product is faulty.

Food Safety, Hygiene and Returns

For food safety, hygiene and quality reasons, we cannot resell food products once they have left our control unless we are satisfied they are safe, unopened, properly stored and suitable for return.
We may refuse a return where the product:
has been opened;
has been consumed in whole or in part;
has been used;
has been handled or stored outside our control;
has been exposed to heat, moisture, pests or contamination risk;
has passed its use-by date;
has passed its best-before date and is no longer fit for sale or consumption;
has been damaged after delivery;
was not collected or brought inside within a reasonable time; or
cannot safely be returned to stock.
For hygiene reasons, some personal care, household or other products may also be unsuitable for return once opened, used, damaged or handled in a way that means they cannot be safely resold.

When We May Refuse a Refund, Replacement or Credit

We will always review genuine product concerns carefully and endeavour to sort the problem.
However, Cape to Cairo may refuse a refund, replacement, credit or other remedy where, after assessment:
the product is not faulty;
the product does not fail to meet a consumer guarantee;
the issue arose because of misuse, mishandling or incorrect storage;
the product was opened, used, consumed or partly consumed before the issue was reported;
the product was exposed to heat, moisture, pests, damaged packaging or unsuitable conditions after delivery;
the customer did not follow the storage, care or use instructions on the packaging;
the product was not collected, brought inside or stored within a reasonable time after delivery;
the concern was reported after an unreasonable delay and we cannot reasonably verify the product condition at the time of delivery; or
the issue arose from circumstances outside Cape to Cairo’s control.
Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Refunds

If a refund is approved, it will usually be processed to the original payment method.
The time it takes for funds to appear in your account may depend on your bank, card provider or payment platform.
Shipping fees may not be refundable unless required by law, or unless the issue was caused by Cape to Cairo.
Store credit may be offered where appropriate, but where Australian Consumer Law requires a refund, we will not substitute store credit unless you agree.

Replacements

Where appropriate, we may offer a replacement item.
Replacement items are subject to product availability.
If the original item is unavailable, we may offer a suitable alternative, refund, store credit or another appropriate remedy.

Credits
Where suitable, we may offer store credit for an order issue.
Store credit may be appropriate where:
an item is missing;
a minor issue has occurred;
a partial remedy is appropriate;
the customer agrees to receive credit; or
the issue can be resolved without resending a physical product.
Store credit is not intended to limit any refund or replacement rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.

Delivery Delays

Delivery delays can occur once a parcel has been handed to Australia Post, Uber or another delivery provider.
We are not responsible for delays caused by Australia Post, Uber, courier networks, weather events, public holidays, incorrect delivery details, peak-period congestion or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
However, if a parcel has not arrived within a reasonable timeframe, please contact us and we will assist where we reasonably can.
You can contact us at info@capetocairo.com.au or on 08 9204 5666.

Lost Parcels

If tracking suggests a parcel may be lost, we may need to lodge an enquiry with Australia Post or the relevant delivery provider.
We may ask you to assist with information required for that enquiry.
Depending on the circumstances and your rights under Australian Consumer Law, we may offer a replacement, refund, store credit or another suitable remedy.
If you believe your parcel may be lost, please email info@capetocairo.com.au with your order number and tracking information.

Incorrect Delivery Address

Please check your delivery address carefully before submitting your order.
Cape to Cairo is not responsible for delays, failed deliveries or lost parcels caused by incorrect, incomplete or unsafe delivery details provided by the customer.
If you notice an address error, contact us immediately by email at info@capetocairo.com.au or by phone on 08 9204 5666.
We will do our best to assist, but we cannot guarantee changes once an order has been packed, dispatched or handed to a delivery provider.
If a parcel is returned to us because the address was incorrect or the parcel was not collected, we will assess the condition of the returned goods.
Because we sell food products and other goods that may be affected by time, transit, storage and handling, we may not be able to resend or refund products that have been outside our control for an extended period.

Products Returned to Sender

If an order is returned to sender because it was not collected, could not be delivered, or the address was incorrect, we will review the condition of the returned goods.
If the products have spent extended time in transit or outside our control, they may not be suitable for resale or redelivery.
Any redelivery costs will be payable by the customer unless the issue was caused by Cape to Cairo or otherwise required by law.
If your order has been returned to sender, please contact us at info@capetocairo.com.au or on 08 9204 5666.

Local Delivery Fee

Uber local delivery is a paid service unless Cape to Cairo expressly states otherwise.
The customer is responsible for the applicable Uber delivery fee.
The fee may vary depending on estimated distance, estimated time, traffic, wait times, delivery availability, demand and any applicable Uber or service fees.

When Local Delivery May Be Used

Local Uber delivery may be suitable where:
the customer lives near our Osborne Park store;
the order is ready during store operating hours;
a driver is available;
the customer agrees to pay the delivery fee; and
the order is suitable for local courier delivery.

When Local Delivery May Not Be Available

We may be unable to offer Uber local delivery if:
the address is outside Uber’s available delivery area;
no Uber driver is available;
the store is closed;
the order is not ready;
the product is out of stock;
the order is too large or unsuitable;
the delivery time requested is not practical; or
there is another operational reason we cannot safely or reasonably arrange it.

Local Delivery and Food Products

Please ensure someone is available to receive the delivery.
Food products should not be left outside in unsuitable conditions.
Cape to Cairo is not responsible for product deterioration after delivery where the order has been left unattended, exposed to heat, moisture, pests or unsafe conditions.

Failed Local Delivery

If a local Uber delivery fails because the customer is unavailable, the address is incorrect or the driver cannot safely complete delivery, additional fees may apply for redelivery.
We may also require the customer to collect the order from our Osborne Park store or approve Australia Post delivery.
Food Storage & Product Care
Cape to Cairo products are made, selected and packed with care.
Once your order has been delivered, it is important that products are stored correctly and handled according to the instructions on the packaging.
If you have any concern about a product, please contact us promptly.
Email: info@capetocairo.com.au
Phone: 08 9204 5666

Food Products

Please follow the storage instructions printed on each product packet, jar, bottle, tin, box or label.
As a general guide:
keep food products sealed until ready to use;
store products in accordance with the packaging instructions;
store shelf-stable food in a cool, dry place unless the label says otherwise;
reseal opened packets properly where the packaging allows;
consume products within the timeframe stated on the packaging;
avoid exposure to heat, moisture and direct sunlight; and
do not consume if the product appears spoiled, damaged, swollen, leaking, contaminated or unsafe.

Biltong, Droëwors and Jerky

Biltong, droëwors and jerky should be stored strictly in accordance with the instructions on the packaging.
As a general guide, keep the product sealed until ready to enjoy, store in a cool, dry place unless the packaging says otherwise, reseal opened packets properly, avoid exposure to heat, moisture and direct sunlight, and consume within the timeframe stated on the packaging.
Do not consume the product if it appears spoiled, damaged or unsafe.

Customers must always read the product label and follow the storage instructions on the packaging.

After Delivery

Please bring your parcel inside as soon as possible after delivery.
Do not leave food products outside, in direct sunlight, in a hot car, near pets, near pests or in wet conditions.
Cape to Cairo is not responsible for product deterioration caused by storage or handling after delivery.

Natural Product Variation

Some food products naturally vary in colour, texture, dryness, fat level, shape, size, flavour intensity, appearance or consistency.
Biltong is a natural air-dried product. There may be natural variation in colour, texture, dryness, fat level, shape, size and flavour intensity.
This is part of what makes biltong personal.
Natural variation does not necessarily mean the product is faulty.

Non-Food Products

For non-food products, including household products, BBQ and braai accessories, potjies, biltong-making accessories, personal care items, gifts and other general merchandise, please follow all instructions, warnings and care information provided on the product packaging or label.
Cape to Cairo is not responsible for damage caused by misuse, mishandling, failure to follow instructions, normal wear and tear, accidental damage, unsuitable storage or alteration after delivery.

Product Concerns

If you are concerned about a product, do not consume or use it.
Contact us promptly with:
your order number;

another suitable solution.

Pricing

We do our best to keep website pricing accurate and up to date, but errors may occasionally occur. If a product is listed at an incorrect price due to a genuine mistake, technical issue, supplier update or system delay, Cape to Cairo may contact you before dispatch to confirm whether you wish to proceed at the correct price, amend the order or cancel the affected item for a refund.
The price shown at checkout will usually apply to your order, unless there has been an obvious or genuine pricing error.

Customer Delivery Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery details and ensuring the delivery location is safe and suitable.
Customers should monitor tracking and collect parcels promptly where required.
Cape to Cairo is not responsible for delays or product issues caused by incorrect addresses, missed deliveries, failure to collect parcels, or unsuitable storage after delivery.

Returns and Refunds

Returns and refunds are handled in accordance with our Returns & Refunds Policy.
Because we sell food products and other goods that may be affected by storage, hygiene, use, handling and resale suitability, returns may be limited.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Cape to Cairo is not responsible for indirect, consequential or special loss arising from delays, delivery issues, customer storage issues, product misuse or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
This does not limit any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
